Problems . . .

Graphical Design of the App . . .
_____________________________________
On the previous page I finished covering what I would want ideally to have but due to lack of experience and also lack of time on this project they were unrealistic to achieve.

Here is my graphical design of the app without the extra features included.
Home
Start
Event Page
Left: Search Venue Page
Above: Search Venue Page Canvas
Right: Individual Venue Page
These graphical designs as you can see are quite close to my original drawings. What I have done though is added a back button after some feedback to the top left of the top bar. This makes it much easier to navigate and allows everything to fit on the pages a lot better making it a lot less cluttered.

I am also considering a Home page to go into the top bar on the right hand side but have yet to decide whether it is necessary.

Referring back to the venue canvas that is above.
When coming to test it on my mobile and also on the computer it didn't work. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't scroll and after spending a long time with no progress I decided to scrap it. Now there are only two venues per page. They are accessed through the 'more' button.
1.
2.
Originally with my idea I wanted to list events that would be on the same night the user is viewing the app on. Unfortunately I have no idea how to implement that nor do I have the time so that was left out too.
The genre's page that I wanted (no full page shown in design but will do a mockup) to include was too much to do with too little time. I designed the page and I will show it below but on the demo application the buttons don't do anything.
3.
Genres Page Design . . .
Here are the designs that I would have gone with. I would have introduced sub-categories and had a few more options to choose from. This would be implemented as an essential if the application were to have a login system and the other features I had mentioned in my original idea.
Working Demo . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Below is the way to get a working demo of my app on your Android or iOS phone. Follow the instructions and it should work. There is a degree of random generated text to fill in the content on the venue pages due to lack of time and also not knowing enough about each event. With more time and commitment clearly there would be a lot of thought put into descriptions but as this was a design task I have chosen to divert my time more wisely.

Publishing the Application . . .
The application is both tested on iOS and Android phones therefore there is no need to change it for Android.
To publish an App from AppFurnace on the Apple store it can be a bit tricky. The first hurdle is you need to be a Mac user and not a windows user so if you don't have one then you have to contact support@appfurnace.com.

Below is a step by step guide if you do have a Mac.

Visit AppFurnace here if you'd prefer do it in another window.

Extra . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Unfortunately due to the way Hotglue is if there are things I've missed out/forgotten then the only way to add them would be to individually drag everything around and re-arrange it. Therefore here I will post content that is missing.

My randomise function . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________
For my application to do what I intended it to do I needed to add a bit of code otherwise I would have ended up making a large amount of pages and not having it be completely random. As I don't know any Javascript I looked up how to do this function on w3schools.com and then applied it to my code.

Here is my code adapted from what w3schools provided.
Above is for the first random function to choose whether to navigate to 'Club Nights' or 'Live Music'.

To the right are the functions for the Clubs and Live venues. The amount of numbers that can be chosen was increased to 6 and then when they each number gets called the code navigates to one of the pages assigned.

I was made aware while first showing my code that there is actually a much quicker way of writing this. That way would be to rename the venues as 'Club1', 'Club2', 'Club3' etc and then there would be only need for one if function instead of 6 like I've got.

For me though since my code was already written like this I decided to keep it as it works perfectly fine and I find it easy to understand.

Video of App working . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Here is a video of me using my application and the simple randomise function in all of its glory.

I also let a few friends play around with it for some user testing and the app held up with no issues while being 'easy to use' and 'useful' with a good idea behind the concept.
